Hiking

Mt. Tallac

Incredible views persist along the entire 4.8 mile one way route to the summit of Mt. Tallac, which dominates the SW shore of Lake Tahoe.  The summit affords without question the best panorama in the Tahoe Sierra.

On the minus side, this trail can be crowded and dusty in mid-summer, and can get very hot above timberline. Take advantage of Secrets Inn Jacuzzi Tubs after a exciting hike.

Emerald Bay and Vikingholm

Trail starts at the parking area on the north side of Emerald Bay, on Highway 89. It's a wide, well-maintained trail, but fairly steep, about 2½ miles round trip. At the bottom of the trail is a picnic area, as well as world-famous Vikingsholm, a replica of a Scandinavian castle.

Hiking is abundant through out the Tahoe basin. Providing beautiful views and a wide variety of wildlife. There are more strenuous hikes for those seaking a challenge and easier terrain for those out to just enjoy the sites.

Fishing

What's more Romantic than Lake Tahoe ,spending the night at Secrets Inn and Fishing in the morning. Lake Tahoe offers the best Kokanee and Lake Trout (Mackinaw) fishing in California and Nevada. And the best part is that Captain Don Sheetz, knows where to catch them!!  He should, he's been a Lake Tahoe guide for 22 years!
